One brand, indoors and out

Wolf Repair Service Los Angeles is an independent repair company. We work on Wolf cooking equipment and nothing else — outdoor grills, side burners and burner modules in the garden, and ranges, cooktops, ovens and ventilation in the kitchen behind it.

Why we took on outdoor grills

Because the chain is the one we already work indoors. A Wolf grill is a gas appliance with an electric ignition: a shut-off, a regulator, a manifold, a valve per burner, an orifice, a venturi and a row of ports. That is the same run as the cooktop indoors, worked in the same order with the same meters, and the parts that fail on it fail for the same reasons. An outdoor body was being treated as a different trade, and it is not one — which is why outdoor grill repair is the page this company is built around.

So the grill became the thing this company is for, and the handbook came out of it. Most of what goes wrong outdoors is dirt, damp and a blocked port, and a homeowner can put all three right in an evening once somebody has written down how. What is left — the gas train, the igniter circuit, a burner that has to come out — is ours, and the pages say so plainly rather than turning every symptom into a call-out.

How we work in Los Angeles

The round runs Toluca Lake, Tarzana, Windsor Square and Beverly Grove, with Burbank, Porter Ranch and the Fairfax District added on the same lines. That covers two quite different kinds of yard: Valley lots with a built-in island and a pool, where heat and dust do the damage, and tight mid-city patios where the grill is a cart and the kitchen behind it is period. The building usually explains the fault, which is why we ask about it before guessing at the appliance.

What drives the number

The visit is a flat $89: somebody comes out, finds the fault properly, and that $89 comes straight off the repair as soon as you approve it.

That buys a real diagnosis: the burner watched from the first glow, the gas followed from the shut-off to the ports, the ignition circuit metered rather than guessed at. What the work costs after that depends on the part your model takes and how far the unit has to come apart to reach it, which is why every repair is published as a span and never as a single figure. You agree one parts-and-labour number before anything is dismantled. The published spans are all on the pages themselves: range repair, oven repair, cooktop repair, range hood repair.

What we will not do

• Put a number on a repair over the phone, before anybody has seen it.
• Condemn a board or an igniter because it is the easiest part to sell.
• Set a grill up so it lights beautifully cold and sulks when it is hot.
• Touch gas-line alterations or fuel conversions, which are a gas fitter's work.
• Claim any connection to Wolf. We repair the equipment; we do not represent it.
